For the first time in a generation, students at the Morton McMichael School will be able to visit the school library, hear stories, and check out books. After being closed for 25 years, the school library will be opened and run by WePAC and its amazing team of volunteers. At a grand opening ceremony attended by School District representatives, the Mayor’s Office of Education, the United States Department of Education, elected officials, WePAC’s Board and staff, Impact100 Philadelphia, and Principal Brian Wallace, the first class of students sat enthralled as they shared in stories read by WePAC volunteers. Classes of students will be coming to the library on a regular basis and will select and check out books for independent reading.
