WePAC’s after-school newspaper clubs provide students with the opportunity to further develop their writing and editing skills. Newspaper club students conduct interviews, report on school news, write articles and poetry, and produce a newspaper which is published and shared with the school community.
WePAC’s newspaper clubs are designed for 5th-8th grade students who have a particular interest in writing and being published. This is a great way for young students to work on their writing skills and prepare for high school while also providing a valuable service to their school community. As one principal told us, “It’s every elementary school principal’s dream to have a school newspaper.”
WePAC Newspaper Clubs meet during the after-school hours from approximately 3:00-4:30 p.m. WePAC has also arranged for some students with a particular interest in journalism to visit WHYY.
