WePAC offers two volunteer-driven programs, each designed to enhance literacy skills for young students.
The areas where WePAC operates face significant educational challenges. An astounding 80% of public school students score below grade level in reading or math. The great majority fall below grade level in both. More than 40% of students will drop out of school without graduating. More than one-third of neighborhood adults do not have a high school diploma, about 5% have a college degree, and nearly one-quarter cannot read or write at an elementary school level.
It is in this challenging environment that WePAC serves. Through our programs, we strive to build children’s literacy skills so they can achieve their full potential.
